Marco was not feeling so good today after his little dental procedure, so our old man took care of him by curling up and taking a nap with him.....I am amazaed at how small he gets himself. He is old, blind as a bat, cranky, diabetic and a major PIA, but still one of the greatest companions anyone could ever ask for in life! Plus he is really cute!

Snow 2011...round ?

So, again I will be posting more snow pictures b.c. that is pretty much the center of our lives right now. We woke up to more snow then expected (sensing a trend here?) but I must say it was really pretty. It took Marco (and partially me) nearly an hour and 15 minutes to dig out my car and 1/2 of the driveway. Part of the problem is there is no where to put the snow!! It reminds me of winter of 1996 where we had a similar problem! They are alrady forecasting more snow over the weekend (a dusting...but we all know what happened last time they said "a dusting" ) and possibly another storm next weekend! My husband is in all of his glory, as he loves the snow. While I dont entirely love it, I dont find myself hating it! My car drives like a TANK in the snow (i love my Venza - best car ever...if you are looking for a new car/cross over, test drive it!) and it is proving to me that if i ever wanted to move to the Adirondacks, I could actually survive! Enjoy the pictures!

View from the Back Room
So we are having some....lovely....weather here in NJ. Basically the weather people have NO idea what they are talking about. I woke up this morning to a winter wonderland, although before I went to bed the weather people where saying rain in the AM. Anywho, one thing I have always liked about my house is when it snows and the view in the backyard. Living in suburbia, you would never think about finding "tranquility" in your 60 by 30 back yard. However, in the 5 years I lived here, I have always been struck with how pretty and peaceful the view of my backyard looks to me when it snows. I dont know why, but I love it. I live in my grandmother's house and on days like this I can see why she stayed in this cottage for 54 years. Despite living in a post-war cookie cutter subdivision in a run-of-the mill Cape Cod, my house always seems more homey and cozy and welcoming when it snows. Enjoy my view!

Sorry for the sabbatical
So I went to Florida and took a bit of a break b/c I get REALLY crappy cellphone service for a mobile upload (plus its a pain in the ass to write a blog using a mobile keyboard) and the Internet in Disney is less-then-desirable ( I actually think they do that on purpose). Anywho, I plan on uploading some of the Disney pictures later on in the week to "makeup" for my lost posts:
In the mean time, it is time for me to torture you with pictures of my cute dogs!!! WAHOO!!!
I took this picture last night b.c. the puppies just looked so adorable and cozy....The camera couldnt capture their ultimate cuteness!

The Call of the Wild

So this was the view at tonight at dinner. We walked in and I immediatly noticed this man wearing basically my dog on his head. I gave him the benefit of the doubt that MAYBE he was wearing his son's hat and was fooling around; but no, there was no laughing, no joking coming from the booth. Ok, so then I thought maybe he was just "trying on" his sons hat to see is he likes it because he did eventually take it off;but no, when he got up to leave, he put his coat on, his gloves on and then the wolf hat. He carefully fastened it under his chin, paid his bill and went on his way....wearing White Fang on his head.....hmmmm...

GUESS WHERE IM GOING??!?!?!!
Most people think that Marco and I are slightly nutso for our frequent trips to Disney (and I can assure you I know people who actaully go more then me), but to be honest, we get to stay in AWESOME 4-star hotels, eat good food, swim in nice pools, rent bikes and boats, and get waited on hand and foot with awesome service. I have been other places and I have never recieved service like down there. Plus, some of my fondest memories as an adult and a child are from DisneyWorld. So those of you that think Im crazy, I dont really care :) I will proudly donn my ears and embrace the corporate/commercial/capitalistic machine that is Disney. Im usually not a "conformist" but I definitely drink the "Disney" Kool-Aid! :)

View from the Couch: Chloe aka "Monster"

This is my Chloe Monster. I told you I was going to torture you all with endless pictures of my dogs.
Chloe is one of those dogs who follows you everywhere. She is always within 5 feet of us at any given time and spends much of her time staring at us with her antena ears. Although she is not the brightest crayon in the box, she is a lovebug. Unfortunatly, she comes by her nickname "Monster" naturally and she can be a bit of a pain in the ass. We came home tonight to garbage scattered throughout our house as the Monster was on the hunt. Some of her favorite things to eat include toilet paper (she eats it like cotton candy off the roll), glasses, cameras, remotes, picture frames (glass included) and phones. Perhaps my favorite Monster moment was right before we got married and Chloe still was banished to the confines of her cage to prevent her from destroying our house. Marco and I came home from dinner and immediatly realized that we forgot to latch her cage when we saw her pounce on the front door through the glass. I had just recently had my bridal shower and many of presents were still out in the living room. Monster had ravaged the presents and eaten most of the gift bags and tissue paper. When she greeted us at the door, she actually had a small recipe box stuck in her mouth length wise. Upon us removing said recipe box, she then led us to the back room where she promply picked up a light bulb with her mouth. Yes, I said a lightbulb. Thank god she had only nawed off the metal portion and thus saved us thousands of dollar in vet bills.
All the destruction aside, we love our monster. She is a sweetheart and makes us extremly happy. She also loves her brother Bagheera and takes very good care of him. Although she sheds her entire coat 2 times a year and coats our house with a thin coat of gray, she is a great dog.

Happy New Years/My new Blog/ I have no photos of my family
I have decided to give this "blog" thing another try. After trying to make a Christmas card this year and realizing that aside from my brief trip to the
Adirondacks in August and Dc in June, I did not really exist (on photo) for the past year. I wound up not even making a Christmas card because the only pictures I had of myself I was wearing paddling gear or sweating my ass off and it was less then flattering. I actually had ZERO photos of myself, my husband and my niece (who lives with us) together. CRAZY! I mean, lets face it...Im 28 (ok, Im 29)...I have no kids for anyone to take pictures of (which it seems is the major trend in people my age, but alas, kids are not really in my life plan), I didnt graduate from anything, didnt get married (been there, done that), or do anything "MAJOR" this year and people dont really want to look at endless pictures of my dogs ( although I would, becuase they are REALLY cute dogs).....
Anywho, I then decided that it would be great if I tried to take a "photo a day" and post it on a blog (for pretty much no one to read) so I at least had a record that I existed in 2011.
Combined with this, its New Years and time for resolutions. Lets face it, making my traditional "Im going to lose weight" resolution just frankly is a crock of shit and is not going to really [ever] happen, at least not to the extent I delude myself with each year . However, I have noticed ( and my husband and various other friends/family/enemies have pointed out)that I tend to be a bit of a pessimist.....ok, I dont "tend"...I AM a pessimist. As a matter of fact,I previously had a blog and noticed that MOST of my blogs turned out to be complaint sessions. I have decided THIS year, that my resolution will be to TRY to be more optimistic. Now I am not saying that I will always be cheerful and happy and Susie-sunshine and shit about everything...however, I WILL try to find SOME optimism in things and I figure one of the better ways to do this would be through pictures...so VOILA!
So here is my first photo - this is ME trying out out new sleeping bag pads...yes, I realize that I am boring but my husband boght me this AWESOME sleeping back last year called a Big Agnus bag and it is a top-rates sleeping bag taht I can use in up to zero-degree weather...not that I plan on camping in ZERO degree weather, but it can get chilly in the FAll. This bag is especially awesome b/c MY version is a "womans" bag and is specially designed to fit women. Anyway, we just bought the sleeping air mattress pad at EMS today and decided to set up "camp" in our family room. It was quite warm and cozy and I didnt want to get out of it!
